All work is scheduled by Appointment
Typically, Rick Bowman is backlogged for a minimum of three months to a year with Antique Restorations and Custom Paintwork. However, with many of the processes requiring lengthy "drying times", there is always room for smaller "fill-in" jobs that may be scheduled within a month's time.
Job Completion
Turn-around time for jobs varies widely. Some jobs can be done in a few hours, a day, a few days, a week, a month or longer. Costs and prices vary, as well. Some small jobs may cost $25.00 to $50.00 with the "average" Stock/OEM motorcycle paint job costing about $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 and taking approximately ten days to two weeks from start to finish. Cash, Check or Money Orders are accepted - NO Credit Cards. Depending upon the estimated cost of the job, a deposit is also required.
Costs
While Rick's high-dollar motorcycle paint and sign crafting jobs may begin at about $1,000.00, more elaborate jobs can easily range from $2,500.00, $5,000.00, $7,500.00 or even up to $10,000.00 depending upon the amount of parts and complexity of the preparation work, paintwork and artwork involved. Basically, it is "Time and Materials", or by a written quote or signed agreement.
Materials
Rick uses only the finest materials from the bare substrate to the final oven-baked finish. PPG, DuPont, Sherwin-Williams, 1-Shot, House of Kolor and Van Sickle Paints, 3-M tapes, adhesives, sandpaper & buffing compounds and U.S. Chemical Plastics & Putties are a few common Brand Names all patented with a ™ insignia.
Guarantee
With custom work, NO paint company or supplier offers a "guarantee or warranty" when used in custom methods that stretch far beyond their recommended application guidelines. Thus, Rick & Covered Bridge Customs will only guarantee our products or paintwork for 90-days. With over 2,000 signs crafted and over 800 motorcycles painted since 1980, only about a dozen jobs were ever returned in nearly 30-years with any type of failure or a problem with the materials used.
Awards
Since Rick's work has been shown locally, nationally and internationally since 1980, his motorcycle paintwork has earned Rick and his many customers over 500 awards and trophies tallied just within the past ten years. Not all of Rick's motorcycle work is for show, but an OEM or Show-Quality finish is Rick's standard in order to be street-ridden daily. Obviously, the customer must properly maintain the finish.
Customer Base
Over the years, until present, Rick & Bev's Custom Paint & Leatherwork has been sold and shipped to at least 7 east-coast states, the mid-west, California and Florida. Some items have even been shipped to Russia and Spain, which is quite impressive!
